Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate specific skills in active listening, motivational interviewing, group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management for traumatized, mentally ill and emotionally disturbed clients, as well as those with co-occurring mental health and addictions diagnoses.
- Articulate orally and writing theory of interaction of human systems including: individual, interpersonal, group family, organizational, community, and society.
- Define human services emerging in various social services fields that influenced their development and growth in the human services field.
- Apply principles of ethical decision making in the human services field and practice ethical behavior in relation to self and others within the helping relationship.
- Upon completion of the Human Services certificate and providing documentation of all required observation hours and practical experience, graduates will be eligible to work in a human services setting.
