This certificate prepares students to install, evaluate performance, conduct energy analysis, and perform required services for residential heating and air conditioning equipment. Graduates can seek employment with HVAC contractors or in maintenance department of a larger facility.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Calculate heating and cooling loads and size components of residential comfort control systems using ACCA manual.
  2. Install system as required by codes of warm air heating, hot water boiler and air conditioning and perform start-up.
  3. Install gas lines, refrigeration lines, and basic wiring needed to install new systems.
  4. Locate wiring diagrams and interpret the operating sequence of the system.
  5. Perform repairs for malfunction.
